Privacy Policy
Effective 4 November 2026
1. Who we are
TDom (listed on the App Store as "Tdom Meter") is made by Altstead LLC ("we", "us") in Wichita, Kansas. This policy covers the TDom app for iPhone and iPad, its widgets, Live Activities and Messages stickers, and this website. Privacy questions go to hello@altstead.com, and a person will answer.
2. What we collect
Nothing. TDom contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it doesn't send anything to us. There are no user accounts and no database of users. Because we never receive your data, we can't look it up, share it, sell it or lose it in a breach. The App Store privacy label for TDom is Data Not Collected.
3. What TDom keeps on your device
- Trips and shifts: dates, start and end times, distance, title, purpose, category, the estimates TDom calculated, and the GPS route points (coordinates and times) recorded during each trip.
- Settings: units, speed alert limits, dashboard layout, cost settings, and the car details you enter: a name for your car, or a Tesla's model, year and VIN.
- Your vehicle key: the private key TDom uses to talk to your car is stored in the Apple Keychain and never leaves the device.
- A widget summary: a small summary, such as today's miles and the last vehicle reading, is shared with TDom's own widgets on the same device. It never includes your VIN, keys or routes, and you can remove mileage, vehicle data or money from it in Settings › Widgets & Live Activity.
This data is stored with iOS data protection. Deleting a trip removes it, and deleting the app removes everything TDom saved. Like other app data, it may be included in device backups you make with iCloud or a computer, which are handled by Apple and by you.
4. Location
TDom uses your device's precise location to show GPS speed, measure distance and draw route maps while a trip or shift is recording. If you turn on automatic drive logging, TDom also uses location in the background to notice when a drive starts and ends, so it can save it for your review. Location is processed on your device and is never sent to us. You can change location access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services.
5. Bluetooth and your Tesla
This section applies only if you drive a Tesla and choose to connect it. When you pair your car, TDom connects to it directly over Bluetooth using a read-only key that you approve inside the car. Depending on the readings you turn on, it reads speed, gear, odometer, battery and range, charging, tire pressure, climate, door and lock status, media and software status. These readings stay on your device. TDom doesn't send them to us or to anyone else.
The read-only key can't unlock, start or control the car. Your car keeps the key in its list of keys, and you can remove it there at any time.
6. Maps and directions
Maps inside TDom, including the map images in reports, are provided by Apple Maps. To show a map, Apple receives requests for the area displayed, which are handled under the Apple Privacy Policy. If you choose to open directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, TDom passes the destination you picked to that app or website, and its own privacy policy applies.
7. Notifications, Live Activities and widgets
TDom can send local notifications, created on your device, to ask you to approve a drive it detected. If you turn on Dynamic Island & Lock Screen, your speed, distance and trip time appear on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while a trip records, where anyone who can see your screen can also see them. Both are optional and can be turned off in TDom or in iOS Settings.
8. Reports, exports and diagnostics
CSV files, PDF reports and connection diagnostics are created on your device. They leave TDom only when you share them through the iOS share sheet, and whoever receives them handles them under their own practices. Diagnostics contain connection counts and software versions, without your VIN, keys or trip locations.
9. Apple
Apple distributes TDom through the App Store and TestFlight. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics; you can turn that off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements. If you test a beta through TestFlight, Apple shares the information described in its TestFlight terms, such as the email address you were invited with and any feedback or crash reports you send. Apple's practices are described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
10. This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising. Our web server keeps short-lived logs of standard request information, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
11. Children
TDom is not directed at children under 13, and we collect no data from anyone, including children.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR or California law, you have rights to access, correct or delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data from the app, so there's normally nothing for us to return or delete, but we're happy to answer any request at hello@altstead.com. We don't sell or share personal information.
13. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change ever meant collecting data, we'd say so clearly here and in TDom's App Store listing before it took effect.
